The most important lesson from 2009 was to stay focused on the things that you can change or influence. This means not (mis)spending time predicting an uncertain future or sitting around waiting for “normality” to be restored.
We purposefully defined 2009 as “character-building” and focused on our core strengths; experience, agility and strong professional relationships. Through collaborating with our clients and understanding how the market was impacting them, we stayed relevant through the delivery of new services offerings that were appropriate to their current needs. We identified and followed up on new opportunities and most of all, we invested in all our relationships – clients, partners and people.
When times are tough, everyone is looking for guidance and even optimism – we worked hard to deliver both.
