Singapore, 29th March 2011– Asia’s definitive event for international manufacturers and suppliers of machinery, technology and materials in the sectors of packaging, filling, processing, quality assurance, and their related fields, ProPak Asia 2011 will be held from the 15th-18th of June 2011 at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC). The 19th in the series, the event theme, “Go Clean, Go Green, Go Together” is particularly pertinent with the increasing focus especially in Asia on the use of cleaner, environmentally friendly technologies, and the task of creating great awareness of environmental issues.

Riding on the “green” theme, this year’s ProPak Asia Conference and Exhibition will further emphasise the task of creating greater awareness of environmental issues, campaigning for the use of cleaner, environmentally friendly technology, as well as the practice of material reduction and recycling as a goal for all.

ProPak Asia has certainly earned its name in the manufacturing industry, having attracted 30,663 trade buyers from 59 countries with key Asian buyer concentration from Singapore, Malaysia, India, Japan, Indonesia, Myanmar, Vietnam, the Philippines, Pakistan and China at its 18th Pro Pak Asia event last year. It was estimated that the show generated direct sales of an estimated US$100 million, and post-show generation of US$ 300 million. To further enhance the learning environment for the processing, filling and packaging industry, ProPak Asia 2011 also encompasses a series of high-level conferences, seminars, workshops and competitions. • The Brewing Conference 2011 organized by the Germany based, Versuchs- und Lehranstalt für Brauerei Berlin (VLB Berlin) and the Thailand Beer Industry Guild (TBIG). The presentations will explore, the “Going Green – The Time is Now”, concept and how this relates to breweries and the related packaging industry.

• The ASEAN Food Conference 2011 organized jointly by the The Federation of Institute of Food Science and Technology in ASEAN (FIFSTA), Food Science and Technology Association of Thailand (FoSTAT), Agro-Industry academic Council Association (AIAC) and Khon Kaen University (KKU). The presentations will explore how science and technology are key tools for the technical and strategic competitiveness of ASEAN not just from an industry point of view, but also the economical gains that the food and beverage industry will bring to the respective ASEAN economies.

• PharmaTech Seminar 2011 organized by the Industrial Pharmacist Group. This is an important industry forum to create understanding among pharmaceutical manufactures, suppliers, distributor and industry stakeholders to be aware of specifications for drug standard and the regulations viewpoints of the Drug Administration Association of Thailand.

• 4th Plastics in Packaging Conference organized by Asian Plastics News.

• The Thai Star Packaging Award and Press Conference 2011 organized by The Department of Industrial Promotion.

• The FoSTAT-Nestle Quiz Bowl organized by the Food Science and Technology Association of Thailand (FoSTAT).
