Singapore 5th October 2010: Regus, the world’s leading provider of innovative workplace solutions, is opening its fifth business centre in Singapore to support the growing number of companies keen to snap up opportunities presented by the economic upturn.

Local and global businesses anticipating future growth in the country – considered a gateway to Asia – have triggered a surge in enquiries about Regus’ services. The interest has prompted the company to invest in the new Regus Samsung Hub centre, just six weeks after opening its fourth at One Raffles Place.

The worldwide Regus Business Tracker survey in April showed 43.6% of companies in Singapore experienced a revenue increase in the last year, so 90.9% of businesses are bullish that their revenues will increase in 2011.

Cautious optimism comes as Singapore’s economy expanded 15.5% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2010, according to the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI). GDP is forecast at 7-9% and for the second year in a row, the World Bank also ranks Singapore top as the world’s easiest place to do business.

“With demand increasing, it soon became apparent we would need to offer further facilities which give businesses the means to leverage opportunities opened by the economy’s upward momentum,” said William Willems, Vice President for ANZ and SEA at Regus.

Willems said: “Our workplace solutions make doing business even easier, by offering every kind of company the chance to remain flexible and cost-effective while exploring investment potential in the region.”

Mercer ranked Singapore top for city infrastructure in its 2009 Worldwide Quality of Living Survey. Both the new Regus centres are in close proximity to each other in the heart of Singapore’s financial district.

Regus Samsung Hub offers a videoconferencing studio and high-speed internet access in a region that prides itself on its connectivity. The centre also has a business lounge for businesspeople on the move and is an excellent home from home for international businesses, easily accessible using Singapore’s excellent public transport system and nearby airport.
