Products leverage Microsoft SharePoint Server products and technologies to deliver enterprise-wide process and case-management solutions
MALAYSIA– OCTOBER 26, 2009 – Global 360 today announced that its Process and Case Management solutions are the first enterprise-wide solutions to enable both strategic process and document management applications on Microsoft SharePoint Server products and technologies. These infinitely scalable Global360 solutions accelerate the development, deployment and adoption of SharePoint Server enterprise-wide. This allows organizations to further leverage SharePoint Server for more strategic applications, thus improving Return on Investment (ROI) for their existing SharePoint Server investment.
With more than 100 million user licenses worldwide, SharePoint Server has become the de facto standard to support project team collaboration, basic document sharing and common portal functions. The Global 360 solutions enable the next big step as companies can now leverage the SharePoint Server platform for more strategic processes.
These Global 360 solutions preserve your SharePoint Server investment and provide users with the following advantages:
- Enterprise class process management. Now there is a robust, scalable way to handle process volume as the numbers of processes grow.
- Graphical, intuitive process and application design. Global 360 delivers unique views of the information that is most valuable to each type of user.
- Case management capabilities. Case management supports ad-hoc, collaborative processes and references multiple documents that live in SharePoint Server.
- Extended tracking and reporting on the process. Now historical or real-time activities can be tracked and analyzed for near real-time process-based reporting and participant labor statistics.
- Scalability for high volume and/or multiple workflow – SharePoint Server will now handle workflow for high-volume processes or running multiple processes.
Process360 and SharePoint Server
Documents like claims submissions, job applicant submissions, customer correspondence and new customer applications are still widespread in most business processes. Many organizations are storing these documents in SharePoint Server libraries where Word, Excel and other document types can be uploaded and shared with co-workers. Global 360’s Process360 extends the SharePoint Server platform by allowing organizations to build out process and document management applications utilizing SharePoint Server-based documents.
Once the document is in the SharePoint Server repository, users can easily start business processes, or as the document enters the SharePoint Server repository, Global 360 can automatically kick off the process based on characteristics of the document. Global 360 supports complex, parallel processes that may include thousands of process steps such as review, edit, approve, reject, rendezvous and split, and also apply complex process business rules, where appropriate, to increase automated processing and eliminate manually intensive steps.
Global 360’s Process360 solution also leverages SharePoint Server to deliver a powerful persona-based user experience. This user experience (known as viewPoint) – uses a robust library of SharePoint Server Web parts. The growing library of 22 Web parts provides common process and document management tasks delivered as a ready-to-use end-user application experience that is unprecedented in the market, and unusual in most SharePoint Server implementations. Primarily focused on the participants and managers in a process, viewPoint provides SharePoint Server surfaced tasks such as case list allocation, task list search, KPI matrix and more.
For Managers, viewPoint delivers simple, easily digested dashboards and reports through the SharePoint Server Portal. These dashboards and reports provide all the information and real-time reporting necessary to make smart business decisions, without having to filter out technical or extraneous information.
By extending SharePoint Server’s portal capabilities, viewPoint accelerates time-to-deployment while reducing the costs associated with complex BPM user applications, aiding in quicker user adoption.
Case360 and SharePoint Server
Case360 enables Case Management, a style of BPM that deals with unpredictable business processes that would be nearly impossible to capture in a traditional process model without compromising the integrity of the process. These processes are typically very ad-hoc or unstructured in nature, are generally document- and data-intensive, include tasks created and assigned “on the fly,” and rely heavily on human judgment.
Global 360 provides Case Management on top of the SharePoint Server repository, allowing rapid deployment of process and document management applications that support this type of unstructured and ad-hoc processing.
Examples of processes well-suited to Case Management include Dispute Resolution, Medical Claims Appeals, Life Insurance New Business and Underwriting, Customer Service and Correspondence, Health Benefits, as well as various Judicial and Legal applications.
According to David Mitchell, president and CEO of Global 360, “The wide adoption of Microsoft SharePoint Server is a key leverage point for global enterprises to dramatically improve strategic processes – the lifeblood of a business. Often these processes are manual and paper intensive, or reside on monolithic legacy applications that are not intuitive to users or productive in nature.”
Added Mitchell, “As organizations begin using SharePoint Server enterprise-wide for strategic processes, it will evolve from a collaboration tool into a window into business performance. Management gains access to more information to understand how the organization is performing – are we meeting Service Level Agreement or Key Performance Indicator goals, for example? Too often, this performance information isn’t readily available, and managers must make decisions without the supporting process performance data to assist in the decision making process. Global 360 applications have the ability to change that, and do it quickly.”
Global 360’s Process and Case Management products will fully support Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 and Microsoft Office Visio 2010 when they release next year.
