This month brought two exciting announcements between Singapore and the UK. The UK-Singapore Green Economy Framework, a great opportunity for UK-based businesses in the clean energy, low-emission transport and sustainable finance sectors; and Innovate UK Global Incubator Programme Singapore, to attract UK businesses in the advanced manufacturing sector.
The Framework will bring collaboration at government, academia and business-to-business levels through policy dialogues, business matchmaking, industry workshops and research partnerships, as well as green capability development for small and medium-sized enterprises.
Similarly the Global Incubator Programme will help UK companies work with Singapore’s businesses, universities, labs and investors in encouraging the deployment of technologies for manufacturing.
Exciting news for us here at Priority Consultants. As an Asian communications firm founded in Singapore by a woman from the wilds of Yorkshire, we have helped many leading UK technology, industrial and professional services companies build their reputations and grow their business in Southeast Asia. From Norton Rose Fulbright to Alexander Mann Solutions, from Aveva to Vodafone, we have earned the trust of major British enterprises looking to expand in Singapore and beyond. British industrial and commercial expertise and innovation are valued across the region, and we speak the language of both the market and the vendor.
The UK is Singapore’s largest European investor, with close to S$130 billion of investment and historic ties that have evolved into a rich and enduring friendship. This history is one of the factors that make Singapore so attractive to British companies. Love him or loathe him, James Dyson is one entrepreneur who has taken full advantage of Singapore’s business-friendly environment to build a highly successful presence in the island state.
The 700 British companies and 31,000 UK nationals in Singapore know that the republic is the gateway to ASEAN and this is where we can provide support with our comprehensive local knowledge. We look forward to helping more UK enterprises take advantage of these latest partnerships.
